Chris Carta is a lawyer, certified family mediator, and arbitrator whose practice spans family law, civil litigation and wills and estates litigation.
He was called to the British Columbia bar in 2012 and over the course of his career he has successfully represented clients at the Provincial Court of British Columbia, the Supreme Court of British Columbia, and the British Columbia Court of Appeal.
Chris's family law practice has always been litigation-heavy, with a particular focus on high-conflict matters — from complex child support disputes to contentious parenting arrangements. His extensive courtroom experience, combined with real-world perspective, has given him an instinct for finding the path forward.
That same experience is what fuels Chris's rapidly growing alternative dispute resolution practice. As a certified family mediator and arbitrator, he is committed to helping families — even the most high-conflict ones — resolve their disputes outside the courtroom.
Outside of the practice of law, Chris can usually be found on a dance floor with his wife, collecting and playing board games, or manning the barbeque. He is a father to three grown — or mostly grown — children.
