Surrey Family Lawyer Arsh Sarkaria Succeeds in Northern BC Parenting Relocation Case

In R.A.L. v. C.L.D., 2024 BCPC 235, Arsh Sarkaria represented the applicant in a complex British Columbia Provincial Court family law trial involving parenting arrangements and a proposed relocation from Prince George to the Lower Mainland. The matter involved a lengthy litigation history, more than 140 court-filed documents, competing parenting proposals, a s. 211 report, the child’s stated views, special educational considerations, and allegations of family violence. After a multi-day trial, the Court accepted that the child’s views should be seriously considered and ultimately ordered that the child relocate with Arsh’s client, finding that this arrangement was in the child’s best interests. The Court also described Ms. Sarkaria’s closing and reply submissions as “thorough, thoughtful, and helpful.”
